I spent the last four hours doing my first needle felted project and look how cute it is! I’d been obsessing for a while over needle felting… watching tutorials, looking up things other people made on Etsy, reading books (this project was from “I Felt Awesome” by Moxie), and now I finally got a chance to sit and try it out. I always get so excited about these things that I make myself nervous and hesitate to actually attempt a project. I’ve had the materials for months.
It took a really long time. Thousands (my guess) of little needle pokes until it looked the way I wanted it to. As crafts go, the finished product is really seriously cool but there’s no way I’m going to be able to make enough needle felted things (of my own design this time, of course) to sell on Etsy or at my merch table on tour. I’m sure I’ll get a little quicker with practice but I don’t have the patience for bulk work with this kind of thing. Unless I make some teeny tiny things (less than two inches high) and people don’t mind that I’ll have to charge by the amount of work and time they took to create.
Nonetheless, it is adorable and like the title of the book said I would, I feel awesome.
